Lift Legal: Becoming Part of Something Bigger

Over the past few years, Lift Legal has set a steady pace of growth. The founders of the family and corporate law practice, Mel and Rebecca, began their journey into entrepreneurship in 2016, starting (as many do) from a home office. However, it soon became important for them to be able to welcome clients into a comfortable, professional space. They knew a receptionist, waiting area, and spacious boardrooms were all necessary to create positive experiences for their clients.

Nervous about testing the waters with a full-blown lease that might not grow with their business, Mel and Rebecca moved the business into NABI in 2017. They transitioned into various spaces within NABI as the business grew, expanding to what is now a team of five lawyers and support staff. One of their greatest needs in their earliest stages of business was a collaborative space. In addition to being able to easily pop over to their colleagues’ desks, they enjoyed visits from NABI staff and management, who would regularly check in to see if they needed anything. “It made us feel like a part of something,” Rebecca says. “It creates the feeling that you are working somewhere where there is more going on, and that’s encouraging for everyone.”

“We took the years we needed to build and gain the confidence to get to the next step,” Mel says. Today, they’ve taken that step, graduating from NABI to move into a fully renovated upper level of the Grandin Parc Business Tower. The transition from NABI to their new space was smooth, allowing them the time they needed to plan, strategize, renovate, and move when they were ready, rather than when they had to. The Lift Legal team continues to build the business and brand, even leaving a bit of room in their new space for continued growth.
