A Quick Recap of NABI’s October Events

It’s been an exciting month at NABI! Our staff is still winding down after a month packed with courses, events, and activities. Check out a few of the incredible startups we met, helped, and gave awards to this month.

2019 Small Business Awards of Distinction – Oct 24th

Small Business Week in St. Albert was capped off by the 2019 Small Business Awards of Distinction. Three hundred small business owners and employees were celebrated, nominated, and awarded for their hard work and determination. Check out the full listing of awardwinning small businesses here.

The annual event is hosted by our partner, St. Albert and District Chamber of Commerce. NABI was honoured to sponsor the IGNITE Award, presented to a small business in its first three years that has demonstrated itself as the most dynamic start-up business in the St. Albert community. We are proud to congratulate Endeavour Brewing Company for winning the IGNITE Award!

We also want to congratulate one of our members, Lift Legal Law Firm, for being nominated for the Business to Business Award.

321 Growth Academy + NABI Lean Sales: Fall 2019 – Oct 17th

In October, we kicked off our long-awaited Lean Sales course put on by our partners at 321 Growth Academy! We started off with our kick-off session at Endeavour Brewing Company, followed by our first classroom session the following day. These participants will learn everything they need to know – from prospecting through closing – all while applying what they’re learning in their businesses in real-time.

The courses will take place over eight classroom sessions, which will occur at NABI Campbell throughout the month of November (six-week duration). It wraps up on November 29th with everyone getting a chance to demonstrate their real-time learnings to their business via a presentation.

Accelerate Your Sales Growth Event – Oct 17th

This first-of-its-kind NABI networking event followed right after the 321 Lean Sales Kick-Off at Endeavour Brewing Company, a local brewery in St. Albert. Over 30 small business owners, service providers, and business professionals from the Greater Edmonton area enjoyed a free beer, local pretzels and s’mores, all while connecting with business experts on hand to answer questions related to sales, business growth, and marketing:

Small Business Week Conference – Oct 22nd

This year was the first ever Small Business Week Conference, which was co-hosted by NABI, St. Albert Economic Development, and the St. Albert and District Chamber of Commerce. 

We were thrilled to have over 50 business professionals in attendance, who spent their morning networking, eating breakfast, and gaining valuable insights from speakers with expertise in digital marketing. 

Brian Siddle, Managing Partner & Director of Community & Content at Strong Coffee Marketing, spoke about the strategic approach to social media and offered simple do’s and don’ts for building a presence on social media.

Paola Rohuede, Managing Director & Website Designer at St. Albert-based business, Kre8tive Business Solutions, offered attendees a chance to take an in-depth look at how to optimize their websites to gain more online traction.
