Adriana Ferrer

Acceleration Services Advisor
Office of Research & Innovation at NAIT

If you’re trekking toward business growth for 2018, but sense a disconnect between your business ideation, finances, and productivity, Commons has a coach just for you! Adriana Ferrer is a “smart growth” expert who can help you lay out the link between your daily grind and your  revenues.
In January, we learned about Ryan Theirault, a NABI Commons coach and Acceleration Services Consultant at NAIT’s Office of Research & Innovation. Now, let’s connect with the other half of Commons coaching coming from NAIT.
Adriana Ferrer is an Acceleration Services Advisor in NAIT’s Office of Research & Innovation. Hailing from Colombia, Adriana has a unique appreciation for the flexibility and creativity of small businesses and soloprenuers in Alberta’s marketplace. She also brings an incredible amount of unique knowledge to her coaching at both NAIT and NABI; her educational and professional background includes a Bachelor of Science with focus in Industrial Engineering, a post-graduate certificate in finances, and Bachelor of Technology Management.
Four years ago, Adriana came to Edmonton for English immersion, and ended up feeling right at home. She’s spent the last four years building out personal and professional networks in the community (and enjoying Edmonton’s vastly ranging seasons!) Now, she’s jumped in to aid the partnership between NABI and NAIT with coaching at Commons.
Adriana’s coaching is focused on “smart growth” and strategic planning. The two overlapping aspects of business Adriana connects are finances and productivity improvement.

When looking at a business analysis, Adriana asks questions like:

  • Are we ready to grow?
  • What is the best way for the company to grow?
  • How can the company optimize its operations?
  • What does the competitive environment look like?
She works with a range of industries, from textiles and fashion, to tech vendors, to health coaches. The issues in each situation are different, but the connection between productivity and finance is ever-present in businesses of any industry.

A few items Adriana can help you with are:

  • Reviewing your financial situation before a big investment (asking questions like “will this increase your revenues?” and “can this replace another expenditure?”)
  • Conducting a market analysis before a product or service launch
  • Adjusting your expenditures and reviewing your processes to see where you can implement cost-savings
  • Rearranging production chains and optimizing your business processes
Get answers to your most pressing operations, ideation, and strategic planning questions by dropping by Commons on a Thursday afternoon for a one-to-one coaching session with Adriana. Or, send her an email at
