7 Holiday Marketing Ideas for 2017 Chelsey Tattrie

The holiday season is fast approaching, and while you begin checking gifts off your list, it’s also time to start thinking about your business’s holiday marketing strategy. A great holiday-themed campaign will not only increase your sales, but also lead to greater client satisfaction!

Some businesses may feel they can’t make use of a holiday marketing strategy. For example, if you’re a business-to-business service-based company, it might seem impossible to implement holiday marketing. This is not the case at all, though! You can always inject some holiday spirit into your communications; it just takes some creativity and a solid brainstorming session. Here are some ideas to get you started:

1. Offer Unique Coupons & Discounts

Shopping is at the forefront of everyone’s minds throughout the lead-up to Christmas, and everyone is looking for a great deal. If you entice your potential customers and clients by offering discounts on your products and services, they’ll be more likely to choose you over your competition.

The benefit of doing this is long-lasting. You’ll already be on people’s radar because of the initial offer, and if they’re satisfied with the product or service you provide, they’ll be more likely to return. It’s a win-win for you (and your customers!)

2. Create Beautiful Gift Certificates for Gifts and Holiday Packages

Offering gift certificates ensures you’ll be helping your customers with their holiday shopping, while also gaining new customers who are on the receiving end of the gifts. Gift certificates are also an essential piece of your brand’s awareness this holiday season: many eyes will be on your perfectly branded gift certificates in holiday packages for auctions, prizes, or gifts.

Here are 10 more ideas on how gift certificates can help your business during the holidays.

3. Roll Your Sleeves up and Partner with a Local Charity

The holiday season presents the perfect opportunity to give back. Not only will your heart grow 10 sizes, but your brand awareness could as well. Be sure to promote your partnership by posting on your social media channels and telling your audience about it—not only will it help bring attention to the charity, it’ll also bode well with your audience and the surrounding community.

If you don’t think you’ll be able to find the time to dedicate to volunteering (and your office space will allow it) you can partner with a local charity as a drop off location for goods they’re collecting. This spreads brand awareness, gets people in your door, and helps those in need.

4. Help People Start Thinking about their Holiday Prep

Despite the uplifting holiday spirit in the air, this season can be a stressful time for some people. Help your customers and clients ease through the holidays by offering them advice, services, or just a friendly reminder that the holidays are upon them! By introducing holiday-related content into your social media messages, blogs, and other marketing content, you’ll be fresh in people’s minds when they begin their holiday preparation—this will increase your chances of gaining their business should they need it.

5. Tug at Heart Strings with Touching Messages

We’ve all seen the holiday ads from large corporations, like WestJet, that leave us a little teary-eyed. Why not implement this into your holiday campaign? There’s no time like the holidays to help remind people of the values your company follows; show people who you are with a touching holiday message that’ll have people thinking of your brand throughout the holiday season, and onwards.

6. Target your AdWords Campaign to Online Shoppers

Online shopping has become the leading trend for the holiday season (and every other season). Make sure your business is getting optimal visibility by targeting online shoppers via your AdWords campaigns.

7. Throw a Holiday Party for your Clients and Staff

Throw a holiday party to thank your clients and/or staff and capture your business's holiday spirit! You don’t have to break your budget by throwing the most extravagant party of the year, but showing your appreciation for your clients and staff will go a long way to ensuring their satisfaction this holiday season and beyond. Be sure to post photos of your party to show your audience a more personal side of your business.

Here are some alternative ways to celebrate the holiday season with your employees if you don’t have the budget for a party this year.
